Thoughts: For the Dogs...
Jan. 26th, 2006 @ 11:36 am
“If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you; that is the principal difference between a dog and a man. Today, I was forwarded one of those humor emails that we all get from our friends. Today, though, I read it because it was about dogs, and dogs are cute; meaning I hoped the email would also be cute. I wasn't terribly disappointed, but there were a couple of great quotes in there that I thought might be worth posting here. Here they are in my order of preference:
-Mark Twain ”
Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.
-Robert A. Heinlein
If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you; that is the principal difference between a dog and a man.
If you think dogs can't count, try putting three dog biscuits in your pocket and then give him only two of them.
Dogs love their friends and bite their enemies, quite unlike people, who are incapable of pure love and always have to mix love and hate.
There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face.
A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.
I wonder if other dogs think poodles are members of a weird religious cult.

Cute quotes! :-)
How do you do to get those big quotes in the entry, whatever they are called?
Those are called "drop quotes" in publishing. I saw them used on another website and I just viewed the source code to figure out how they did it. Here's the code I use:
<div style="line-height: normal; font: bold 14pt Georgia, serif; margin: 10px 10px 10px 15px; width: 200px; float: right;">“ YOUR TEXT HERE ”</div>
You can, of course, modify any or all of the variables to customize it for your tastes.

I will have to try that sometime. Might be difficult for me to change those variables, I only recognize font. :p Will try to remember "drop quotes". :p
